Nosara, Costa Rica

My activities in Nosara consisted of four things: "surfing", sleeping, eating, and reading. Out of those four Nosara is known for one, surfing. And yoga, but after "surfing" (I was learning how to) for a good portion of the day, I was s.p.e.n.t. This can explain why I have a pathetic pool of pictures to decorate my post. Though I can't be too hard on myself because how many different angles can you take of a tree? Trees are more like it.

Thanks to the eco-activism of the expatriate community and its location next to a wildlife refuge, you can let your inner Mowgli run buck naked here. Astonishingly there's very little development although it was once destined to become like Palm Beach with golf courses and gated communities. Lack of finances halted "progress" and we're now left with miles and miles of crowd-less beaches. Oh, happy day.

Wait a minute, one airplane shot and three black and white shots of a land that is reminiscent of the jungle in The Jungle Book?! Sadly, yes. It was my first time shooting with a digital camera :/ Plus, I was having too much fun trying to surf. Isn't that the point of vacations in the first place? Oh, if you're wondering, I'm pretty stoked to report that by the end of the week I was :)

Docking Index

6 anchors. I liked surfing, but I would have to love surfing to live here permanently. Then again, many residents were part-timers, living elsewhere in the fall/winter. I might be able to swing that, just like my inner Tarzan. And what about income? I suppose the beauty of having little to no opportunities is that you're forced to create your own.
