Kos, Greece

What do you make of the email you never send, the one that sits in your Drafts folder indefinitely? Do we hesitate because the words are too premature for life? So deleting it entirely would be like an abortion?? (Ooph, that's a warped analogy.) Eventually, I move mine to another folder because the feelings were lived, so why discard them? This is how I feel writing about Kos. A part of me doesn't want to include it in this little blog here, but another part, can't part with it (was that my first word play of the year?? in April?!).

Harbour at Kos, Greece

Our time on the island was short and spent in a semi-unconscious state (one would think that if you consider sleeping on airplanes a hidden talent you could sleep on a ferry -- nope). So I'm sorry to say I don't have any memories distinctive to Kos the city nor the island itself, just some first-person objective pictures: my favourite Grecian snack, our thank god-it-wasn't-a-cargo-ferry ferry, the I'm-sure-that-tree-wasn't-around-when-Hippocrates-was-alive-but-it's-cool-how-it's-so-revered, and a couple of hey-that's-an-interesting-perimeter-of-a-building shots. For what it's worth though, I can still picture myself bumming around here for six months. Or, until I wake up.

Docking Index

Six anchors, true I felt like a zombie from Dawn of the Dead so how can my rating be accurate when Santorini, whose own name means "the most beautiful one", was five anchors?? Because often in this crazy world in which we live in the second best is better than the best.
