When life isn't too peachy, sometimes I fantasize about living in Southeastern Washington. I know my Western Washington compatriots (there I go again!) are wondering "Why?!" Two reasons, wine and spudnuts. Walla Walla is routinely recognized as "the next Napa Valley", the spudnut's fate on the other hand may be that of a tuber. I pray not, they are glorious little devils.

I know there's more to Tri-Cities and Walla Walla besides sugar and alcohol. Sadly, these are the things I remember the most because I didn't insist on being a tourist while visiting my partner's family. Next time I'll hike part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, replenish at more than one taco truck, and (maybe) have something from a panadaria instead of a spudnut for breakfast. And next time I won't be shy. I'll pullover in the breakdown lane to take pictures of the Hanford site before it's cleaned up. The plutonium which ravished Nagasaki in WWII was created here. We can't clean up history.
But my worries aren't warranted in these lands. To read of the white man's defeat* carved in stone, left this brown gal well, speechless.

Length of Stay
Three weeks in total while living in Bellingham, WA for four years.
Docking Index

Six anchors. As much as I love my hair in semi-desert like climate and spudnuts, I don't think I can live here if I continue to travel often. Flights from Spokane are pricier than Seattle, granted the cost of living is ridiculously cheap. That said, I may have to settle in a pacific northwest version of Levittown, NY :/ Am I asking for too much if I want more than a cheap home, great hair, fried goodness, and sunnier weather? Sheesh, kind of seems like it.
