Nashville, TN

Once upon a time, we travelled through a city called Nashville.
We walked around the Parthenon, and thought, in Nashville?!

Parthenon in Nashville

Sauntering down Broadway,
we heard soulful lores

Old Timey Band on Broadway

And though misty eyed,
we still spotted people from yore

Carla Hall in Nashville
Carla Hall, from Top Chef!
Mullet
(Err...maybe I should've written "spotted things")
But the glee in our bellies was short-lived
For nothing was able to placate the pit-in-the-stomach feeling
Once we learned how Nashville's Confederates lived...*

Docking Index

Five anchors, because of six (six?!) revisions. I know I take forever to write, but it's a heck a lot easier if I have some sentiment one way or another. Nashville left me with nuthin'.

And for unfounded reasons, I have this urge to list my revisions for you. Maybe because the internet makes creating look so damn easy??

Draft 1: Tie Nancy Sintra (one my favourites!) with Nashville's loves for boots (you can spot tourists easily).
Draft 2: Use Mullets and Nashville in the same sentence in alphabetical order from the letters L to P. (<-- this is where I begin to lose it)
Draft 3: Use Mullets and Nashville in the same sentence in reverse alphabetical order from P to L (<-- I've lost it).
Draft 4: Write "WTF Nashville?!" and just post pictures
Draft 5: Post "Should I just give up on this thing?" on a blank page.
Draft 6: See above! (Thank. God.)
